49ers Fans Don’t Recognize Their Lyft Driver Is NFL Legend Jerry Rice
If you’re not a huge fan of football, or at least the San Francisco 49ers, then you might be forgiven for not recognizing the greatest wide receiver to ever step out on the field.
But if you are a 49ers fan and living in San Francisco, you have no excuse.
That scenario was put to the test when on-demand cab service, Lyft, partnered with three-time Super Bowl champion and Hall of Fame wide receiver, Jerry Rice, for a promotional stunt in San Francisco.
A bearded Rice, donning a large pair of sunglasses and a hat, and removing one of his quite conspicuous Super Bowl championship rings, took the driver seat in a Lyft vehicle to transport unsuspecting Bay Area natives around town. Rice, simply referring to himself as “J” during the cab rides, asked his passengers about their favorite football team. Most, being from San Francisco, are “die-hard” 49ers fans, but none of them recognize “The G.O.A.T. (“greatest of all time” moniker often attributed to Rice).
Watch the hilarious video as these fares go from routine to downright strange, as “J” decides he needs to stop off for a stretch, a nap, and even gets one guy to sing out loud.
