Corey Feldman insists he’s “staying out” of the Corey Haim drama out of respect to the late actor’s mom.

Last month, Feldman appeared on Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry, and the psychic helped the actor-turned-singer make contact with his former best friend, who died in 2010 due to a combination of heart problems, pneumonia and blood flow issues.

However, Haim’s mother Judy took issue with Feldman’s TV appearance, telling TMZ he was the last person her son would want to contact, and that Haim was trying to distance himself from Feldman while trying to sober up in the years before his death.

She said she has repeatedly asked The Goonies star to stop talking about her son and their friendship, and let him rest in peace.

On Tuesday, Feldman appeared on The Talk, where he was asked about the debacle, but refused to say anything more about the ordeal out of respect to both Haim and his mom.

“His mom gets very upset every time his name gets brought up,” Feldman explained. “She thinks that every time I go on TV and they show a clip of me talking about him that I’m talking about him, that I’m bringing it up, that I’m like, ‘Hey, let me use this moment to talk about somebody else,’ but I’m not. I’m here to talk about my music.

“I have to be honest – his mom has had a battle with cancer, she’s a delicate woman and even though we haven’t spoken in years, I must respect that those are her wishes. So on that note, I would rather stay out of the Corey Haim stuff and leave that to the press.”

Feldman also made it clear that any sort of rumor that his late pal passed away from drugs is completely false, adding, “Many articles, unfortunately, keep exploiting the idea that he died of a drug overdose… and he did not die of a drug overdose, folks. I don’t know why they keep printing it, but go read the autopsy report, somebody – do your job, research. It’s very simple, he died of pneumonia and enlarged lungs.”
