Meet Popeye, the adorable dog who literally went from rags to riches.

Ivy Diep first met Popeye when he was a stray dog roaming the street of Los Angeles. The dog was struggling to find food and now thanks to Diep he is eating the finest cuisine.

โ€œI found him as a stray,” Diep shared with Bored Panda. “He was such a mess – super skinny, heavily matted, dirty.”

Although Diep wasnโ€™t looking to add another dog to her family at the time, she couldnโ€™t let Popeyeย continue living onย the streets.

“It wasn’t long before he made himself at home at my place with my other dogs,โ€ she explained. โ€œAnd of course, my husband and I fell in love [with him].โ€

After giving Popeye a little makeover and a warm home, one of Diepโ€™s friends suggested she make an Instagram account for Popeye.

“One of my friends, Jen, suggested that I create an Instagram account for Popeye because he was cute. Jen and I liked to go on what we call ‘Instagram dates’ and take pics of our food,โ€ Diep said. โ€œI’d bring Popeye any time I can, and we realized he was really good around food.โ€

She continued, โ€œHe doesn’t lunge for food or really even care for it. He just liked to be out. He’ll get nibbles of anything that’s safe for him. I also carry a bag of treats for him, in case there’s nothing he can have.”
