We have discovered only 5% of the world’s ocean. Basically, anything could be lurking in the ocean’s depths. Here’s a prime example.

An eel-like sea creature was found washed ashore on the New South Wales Central Coast in Australia on Monday. The creature, which looks like it has been part of a horrific science experiment, has a crocodile-like body with a dolphin nose.

Marine biologist Julian Pepperell stated that the creature is actually a pike eel and was measured at 4.5 feet. Pepperell also stated that the creature looked very old before it died.

Prime Center News Hunter 7 tweeted out of picture of the unknown sea creature, questioning if the image was real or if some Photoshop guru was playing a prank.

Mysterious creatures have washed ashore all over the world before, most recently in 2015, when a giant sea creature was washed ashore on a Russian beach.

The carcass was found on the shoreline of Sakhalin Island and was described as a sea monster with a beak. Biologists think that it could be a Ganges dolphin, but it hasn’t been proven yet.
