Jason Biggs once met the director of Spider-Man to discuss being cast as the superhero.

The 37-year-old actor shot to fame thanks to his role as the apple pie loving Jim Levenstein in 1999 comedy movie American Pie and its spin offs American Pie 2 and American Wedding. He has also starred in hit show Orange is the New Black, but admitted in a recent interview that his career would look very different if he had landed one particular role he went for.

“I did meet the director and had a drink with him to discuss Spider-Man,” he told Kiis FM’s Kyle and Jackie O. “I don’t think I was ever really in the running but I had a good agent at the time and they got me a meeting.”

It’s unclear which version of the movie Jason was in the running for. Tobey Maguire starred as the webbed hero in 2002 movie Spider-Man and its 2004 and 2007 sequels, while Andrew Garfield took on the role in The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and its 2014 followup. Tom Holland will be portraying the superhero in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and an untitled reboot.

Despite his varied career moves, Biggs is best known for American Pie. However, he added in the interview that he has been for a host of jobs that he didn’t get.

“The number of parts that I haven’t gotten far outnumbers the parts that I actually have gotten, without a doubt,” he added. “I’ve been doing this since I was a little kid so there are movies, even when I was little, I remember auditioning for that I didn’t get. Things like The Brady Bunch Movie. I remember auditioning for that when I was … 10 or something.”

Biggs next role will see him hosting a one-hour weekly radio show on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM channel. The actor and his spouse Jenny Mollen are known for sharing their raunchy antics with fans, such as when Mollen hired her husband a prostitute to mark his birthday. Now they will be discussing topics including their sex life, family, parenting of their two-year-old son Sid, and their new lives in New York in the weekly show.

Biggs and Mollen’s show will air every Tuesday at 9 a.m.
