Actress Kirstie Alley has withdrawn her support for U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump after the Republican was caught on tape making lewd remarks about women.

The former Cheers star, 65, had previously pledged her vote to the controversial real estate mogul and reality star-turned-politician, but after Trump’s latest scandal, she has had enough.

Taking to Twitter early on Sunday, she wrote, “I hate this election and I’m officially no longer endorsing either candidate…”

Alley’s declaration emerged two days after a 2005 audio recording of Trump was unearthed. In the footage, recorded during an off-camera chat with former Access Hollywood co-host Billy Bush while en route to the set of a U.S. soap opera, Trump can be heard boasting about hitting on attractive women, claiming his celebrity allows him to get away with some outrageous behavior.

“I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait,” he says. “And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the p**sy, you can do anything.”

Trump has since played down the controversial chat as “locker room banter,” insisting he is a changed man, but many top Republican Party members and supporters have since condemned his behavior and called for him to step down as the Republican nominee for the White House – demands Trump has ignored.

Meanwhile, actress Arianne Zucker, one of the women Trump made offensive comments about in the tape, has broken her silence about the furor on Twitter.

Without naming names in her statement, the Days of Our Lives star, 42, declared: “I am a strong, independent, hard working mother, business woman and partner to a great man. I have grown to learn that the words of others cannot effect the value of my self worth or define the content of my character. How we treat one another, whether behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face, should be done with kindness, dignity and respect.”

She continued, “Unfortunately, there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it. In understanding the magnitude of this situation, I choose to stand tall with self respect and use my voice to enrich, inspire and elevate the best of who we are as people.”
