Luke Bryan reigned supreme after nabbing two prizes at Sunday’s American Country Countdown Awards.

The “Crash My Party” star was handed the top award for Artist of The Year, beating out the likes of Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Sam Hunt and Florida Georgia Line, and he was also named Male Vocalist of the Year.

Carrie Underwood was presented with the Female Vocalist of the Year award, while breakthrough artist Chris Stapleton scored the Album of the Year gong for his Grammy-winning record Traveler and Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man” was named Song of the Year.

Music icons Brooks & Dunn were given the special Nash Icon prize for their outstanding achievements over the years by their longtime friend Reba McEntire, who took home the same honor in 2014.

Other performers included Cam, Jennifer Nettles, and Dan + Shay, but it was the musical tribute to the late Merle Haggard, who passed away on his 79th birthday on April 6, that stole the show.

Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey was on hand to introduce Toby Keith, Merle’s band The Strangers, and the late legend’s son Ben, who came together to play a medley of the star’s hits, including “Mama Tried,” “Workin’ Man Blues,” and “Okie From Muskogee.”

The prize giving, determined by the longest-running radio countdown in the U.S. hosted by Brooks & Dunn star Kix Brooks, was held at Los Angeles’ The Forum.
