Some NFL players are tackling a whole new playing field with the help of Pantene.

As part of their “Strong is Beautiful” campaign aimed at girls building their confidence, Pantene has drafted some new players ahead of Super Bowl 50.

Pantene released a new video campaign showing several NFL players accepting the challenge to style their daughters’ hair, or more formally known as the #DadDo hair challenge.

However, the skills on the field don’t necessarily transfer to the delicate task at hand.

“My hands get a little bit in the way,” said Dallas Cowboys’ Jason Witten after unsuccessfully creating a ballerina-style bun on his 3-year-old daughter, Landry.

“Catching a touchdown pass is a lot easier than making a beautiful braid,” he joked. “I’ve washed her hair, but never styled it. I think mom’s got the touch, but I need to learn sometime.”

Pittsburg Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams seemed to struggle as well when he tried to create two twisted pigtails for his daughter, Rhiya.

“Why do they make these barrettes so complicated for guys?” Williams laughed.

Benjamin Watson of the New Orleans Saints may have found a hidden talent after he had a touchdown-worthy performance when braiding his daughter Grace’s hair.

“Who knows? Maybe there’s a post-career here,” he shared.

The campaign is also dedicated to encourage fathers to spend more time with their daughters.

“Research shows that quality time spent with dads is key in raising daughters who are more self-confident, self-reliant and more successful in school and in their careers,” Pantene said in a news release.

“It’s the first time we’ve had daddy time while I’m doing her hair,” confessed Williams.

Pantene rep Jodi Allen hopes that the #DadDo will show “dads how easy and fun it can be to spend quality time with their daughters by doing their hair,” which “will foster the next generation of strong and beautiful women.”
