Rapper DMX Released From Hospital After Health Scare
Rapper DMX was released from the hospital on Tuesday, a day after being found unconscious on Monday night.
Officers in Yonkers, New York, found the 45-year-old man with no pulse collapsed at a hotel parking lot. He resumed breathing after cops performed CPR and revived him, according to Yonkers Police Detective Lt. Patrick McCormack.
McCormack stated that privacy laws prevent him from identifying the man. He revealed that paramedics gave him an opioid reversal medication, which helps with slowed breathing or loss of consciousness.
DMX’s attorney Murray Richman confirmed the police’s report on Tuesday, adding that while he did not know the exact cause for his client’s health scare, he does suffer from asthma.
Richman added that DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was released from a local hospital on Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery.
DMX’s friend and producer Swizz Beatz tweeted about the condition of his friend, “Just got off the phone with the DOG. He’s good and in great spirits Thanks for all the blessings @Dmx the Great!”
DMX previously suffered an asthma attack during an arrest in South Carolina in 2013. Paramedics were called to the scene to check him over before he was taken into custody.
