Korena in the Kitchen, self-professed “cook, baker, dirty-dishes-maker,” has inspired us this Thanksgiving to take our pastry game to the next level with these deliciously fun snack ideas.
In a three-part series posted to her blog, Korena provides step-by-step instructions to turn ordinary pastries into a delightful treat that will have the kids – or your Thanksgiving dinner guests – reeling from their taste-bud exploding sweetness.
Korena easily shows you how to take simple Danish pastry dough squares and create fun shapes perfect for adding sweet cream cheese, fruit, jam, or ALL three.

To help get you started, Korena whips up this delicious Cream Cheese Filling recipe (about 16 danishes):
In a mixer bowl, combine:
250 g soft cream cheese
113 g granulated white sugar
19 g soft butter
28 g flour
21 g beaten egg (about 1/2 an egg – remember that leftover 1/2 egg from the pastry dough?)
1 tsp vanilla extract
Beat it all together with the whisk attachment until smooth and fluffy. Spoon or pipe onto the Danishes as required.
