Susan Sarandon is to become a grandmother for the second time.

Eva Amurri Martino, Sarandon’s daughter with film director Franco Amurri announced she was expecting her second child, a boy, on Tuesday.

Eva and husband Kyle Martino revealed the news in a post on her personal website accompanied by pictures of the mom-to-be alongside her 20-month-old daughter Marlowe.

“It is with so much joy, crazy excitement, and immense gratitude that Kyle, Marlowe and I would like to announce we are expecting a new addition to our family this Fall,” she wrote. “We feel so lucky to be celebrating this special gift. Kyle and I can’t wait to watch what a funny and loving Big Sister Marlowe will be, and we are cherishing our last months with her as the sole center of our Universe.”

Martino, 30, who like her mother is an actress, married her husband, a former Major League Soccer player, in 2011. Last August she sadly revealed she had suffered a miscarriage, writing, “A couple of days ago, the baby I was carrying passed away. I was nine weeks pregnant.”

In the post revealing their baby news, the couple thanked those who had supported them through their difficult year, writing, “Thank you all for your amazing support over the past (almost) year– through our ups and downs, challenges and victories, I’m so happy that you are able to experience this along with us!”

As well as Martino, Sarandon, 69, has two children with her second husband, the actor Tim Robbins, Miles, 23, and Jack, 26.
