A young pit bull mix by the name of Meesha was terrified when she awoke from her spay surgery on Wednesday at BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, until, that is, surgical assistant Dennis Moses calmed her down.

Bailey Deacon, a fellow team member at BARCS, told ABC News, “Coming off anesthesia, dogs are just like people…they don’t know where they are and they’re disoriented.”

Deacon added that Meesha “was really scared” in the surgery room so Moses took her out into the hallway.

Deacon was elated that the video went viral, saying, “It’s the bad things people do to pets that usually become the viral story.
