Thanks to a good samaritan this puppy and his loving owner are reunited.

A woman in Texas stumbled upon a homeless man distraught because his dog was taken from him by authorities and proceeded to shell out the money required for the pup’s release from the pound, which wasn’t just a couple bucks.

Patrick, 30, is a local homeless man in Huntsville, TX who gets by with a little help from his canine companion, Fred Frederick. But unfortunately authorities took Frederick away after Patrick was arrested for trespassing.

He was released after two days in jail but Frederick was impounded for good.

Patrick was devastated, more so because he couldn’t afford the fee for his release from the pound. So, he created a sign that read “Dog in Pound – Need Help” and stationed outside a Walmart asking people to help him raise money for Frederick.

Wilma Price happened to drive by and approached Patrick who explained the situation.

“I’ve seen every sign in the world except that one,” wrote Price on Facebook. “[I’ve] seen I need a beer, lost my job, need help, I could go on forever but never this sign.”

However, after promising a helping hand, she found out Patrick needed a whopping $120 for the release, which he explained was for a rabies shot and a heart worm test in addition to the impound fee.

Price only had “$8 to her name” and although money was tight she nevertheless gave the pound a call, confirmed Patrick’s story, left to retrieve the necessary funds, and returned to pick him up and head to the pound.

Upon arrival at the pound, Frederick was all ready to go and Patrick bolted to him for a touching reunion.

“He was shaking when he came out of the pound it was so happy to see,” wrote Price.

After the duo were together again, Patrick offered Price some money he collected before she answered his prayers but Price denied the money and told him to use it for dinner, even wishing she could give him more money if only she was financially stable.

Then Price dropped them back off at the Walmart parking lot and left, crying.

“Our world is a sad cold place,” she wrote. “[I] pray that life gives the man a break. God please bless Patrick in [sic] Frederick tonight.”

And just when you though her act of kindness wasn’t already amazing, she has also started a fundraiser for the beautiful human and dog team to get on their feet.
